For over 30 years the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation has sought out meaningful ways to support our region's first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and help build healthy connections in the communities they serve - the calling to which they have devoted their lives. This year they will continue to do so by aiming to raise $1.25 Million at the 37th Annual Ben to The Shore Bike Tour. On Sunday, July 21st, I will be among 2,500 cyclists who will make this 65-mile trek from Philadelphia to a celebratory finish at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City. I'm excited to participate and support their initiatives. I am passionate that the work they are doing is truly making a positive impact in our community. Even though the foundation is based in the Philadelphia area, a portion of the money does come back to this area. With your help, I can reach my goal of $1000. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of first responder families during their time of greatest grief and highest need and help cultivate healthy and safe neighborhoods where there is mutual respect and trust between police officers and the citizens they serve.
