This year I will be riding again in the 65 mile Ben to the Shore 2024 charity bike ride. This event is organized by The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation. This organization is dedicated to supporting the families and children of fallen or critically injured first responders. In addition to them providing the immediacy grants to support families after a tradgedy, they provide and have created an invaluable network of support among the community. As most people know my family was forever altered as a result of the senseless crash that resulted in the death of my sister Kellie and niece Emersyn. This organization is deeply close to my heart because they support The Montgomery County Hero Fund which provided my brother in law Jason, and two nephews Mason & Jaxson with support after the crash.
Five months prior to our family tradgedy, our family and community experienced the loss of our friend, Trooper Branden Sisca and Trooper Marty Mack.
Words cannot express the gratitude I have for both of these organizations after seeing first hand the impact their services have on our community.
Last year, participating in the B2Shore personally provided me with an outlet to connect with others during quite literally the worst year of my life. I did not know what to expect when I signed up, other than knowing I wanted to give back to the same community that helped my family and friends. This year I’m gearing up again with The Wheels of Justice, representing the Montgomery County DAs office.
This year I’m excited that my sister Jaclyn, and my Mom Cindy, will be joining Jason and I on this ride!! We look forward to sharing this journey with you as we train and participate again!
The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.
