Hoping to gain support for my upcoming
For the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, Ben to the Shore ride.   
On July 26, I will get on my bike and pedal 65 miles to support the children and families of police, firefighters, EMT and first responders who selflessly gave their lives protecting others. Most of us get up and go to work safe in the knowledge that we will return to our families at the end of the day. For those who chose a life of serving and protecting others(police, firefighter, EMT, First Responders) they don’t have that same luxury. That’s why I ride; for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned to their families. Or who were critically injured. I ride for the families left to pick up the pieces after a life altering loss.
This is my fifth year participating in this ride. Each year I proudly wear the badge numbers of fallen PA first responders on my helmet, which is pretty damn powerful. Even more powerful, I’ve met many volunteers who had family members killed or injured in the line of duty. Their gratitude for all that the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation did for them, compelled them to get actively involved. They volunteer so that others who are facing rebuilding their lives can experience the support they received. If that’s not a reason to get on a bike and ride 65 miles, I’m not sure what is. 
My goal this year is $750. For every $5, $10,$25 donation made will help so many others during their most difficult hours. Please consider making a donation, no amount is too small,  to support my ride for Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation and all those families who lost loved ones in the line of duty.
