🚴♂️ Why I Ride – The Ben to the Shore Bike Tour 🚴♀️
I'm honored to participate and ride in the 39th Annual Ben to The Shore 65 Mile Bike Tour, supporting the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) — a mission that hits very close to home.
The FBBCF is a dedicated non-profit working tirelessly to support the children and families of first responders in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Whether it's providing financial assistance to the families of fallen or critically injured police officers, firefighters, and EMTs, or fostering strong, positive connections between law enforcement and the youth they serve — their impact is real, lasting, and deeply needed.
As the former Chief of the Lower Merion Fire Department, I carry the memory of two brave men — Sean DeMunyck and Tom Royds — who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. I ride in their honor. I ride to remember them. As the former State Fire Commissioner, I carry the memory and ride for all those brave firefighters from Pennsylvania who died in the line of duty. And I ride to ensure the families of heroes like Sean and Tom and all of those families who have lost a loved one, never feel forgotten.
Your support fuels more than just miles — it supports healing, hope, and meaningful change. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to this incredible cause.
🙏 Every dollar counts. Every ride matters. And every name remembered is a legacy kept alive.
